LIFT Privacy Policy

For the LIFT for SCALE browser extension.

This policy covers the LIFT for SCALE browser extension ("LIFT") as published on the Microsoft Edge Add-ons website and the Chrome Web Store. LIFT is built by Jacob Thompson. It is an independent tool, not affiliated with or endorsed by Manhattan Associates.

The short version

LIFT collects nothing and sends nothing. It makes no network requests of its own, runs no analytics, and has no servers. Nothing LIFT sees on a page leaves your browser.

What LIFT reads

LIFT runs only on pages whose address path starts with /scale/, the pages of the Manhattan SCALE web application. It reads those pages so it can add its features to them: for example, the value in a grid cell you double-click, or the list of SCALE screens you're authorized to open, which the command palette searches.

SCALE pages can contain personal information, such as the names and addresses on shipments. LIFT handles that content only inside the page you have open, only to do what you asked, and never stores it, logs it or sends it anywhere.

What LIFT stores

  • Your LIFT settings: which features are on, your shortcuts, colors and themes, the environments you set up for environment indicators (their names and hostnames), and any custom palette commands. They're kept in your browser's extension storage and synced between your devices only by your browser's own sync, when you have it on. Your browser's provider handles that sync under its own privacy terms.
  • Settings export: when you choose to export, LIFT saves your settings as a file on your computer. It does this only when you ask, and the file goes nowhere else.

LIFT stores nothing else.

The clipboard

LIFT writes to your clipboard only a value you asked it to copy, such as a grid cell, a SCALE message banner or formatted JSON. It never reads your clipboard.

Permissions LIFT asks for

  • Access to pages whose path starts with /scale/: SCALE runs at a different address at every company, so LIFT matches the path instead of a site name. It does nothing on any other page.
  • Storage: saves your LIFT settings, as described above.
  • Clipboard write: copies a value you asked LIFT to copy.
  • Context menus: adds Copy and Preview JSON to the right-click menu on SCALE pages, if you choose that menu style.

Sharing and selling

LIFT doesn't collect personal information, so there is nothing to share, sell or transfer to anyone. LIFT doesn't use your data for advertising, credit decisions or any purpose other than its features.

Removing your data

Uninstalling LIFT removes its settings from your browser's extension storage. Copies your browser has synced are managed by your browser's sync settings, where you can clear synced data.

Feedback and this website

LIFT's feedback link goes through this website to a Google Form. Anything you choose to enter there is sent to that form, not collected by the extension. This website itself uses privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics (Plausible) to count page visits.

Changes

If LIFT ever changes what it reads, stores or sends, this page will be updated before that version is published, and the date at the top will change.
